The Timeless Tales of Glenn Harrington
Bucks County artist Glenn Harrington proves a picture's worth a thousand words.

If you’re an avid reader of 19th century literature, there’s a very good chance that you’ve already encountered Glenn Harrington’s work. Having been commissioned to paint the cover art for over 500 books including such classics as Room with a View, Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights and two series of oils on the plays and poetry of William Shakespeare and W.B. Yeats, Harrington most assuredly has an eye for historical storytelling.

“These classic books never go out of style,” says Harrington. “They always have something to offer to us about ourselves, and reveal a structure for the unfolding of events and ideas that we use today in various forms of literature and art.”

Of course, Harrington’s work is not only the stuff of romantic tales, much of his work finds him in contemporary situations, yet the subjects almost always seem to have a timeless air about them. “My eye has always gravitated to art that exudes a transcendent, timeless quality, honest about it’s day yet offering something unique to us today,” says Harrington. more...
